STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES

Student Support Services (SSS) aims to increase the academic potential of participants and are provided at no cost to eligible students. The goal of SSS is to increase the retention and graduation rates of college students who demonstrate academic need and who are either first-generation, and/or low income, and/or have a documented disability. This goal is based upon the belief that all students, regardless of age, family background, learning style, or presence of a disability, should have equal opportunity to reach their full personal, academic, and career potential.

MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) at Georgia State University’s Atlanta campus welcome a mentoring component called Amplified. Amplified aims to connect students with peer mentors to help them navigate life and higher education challenges. Amplified is made up of three tracks, the freshman and sophomore journey, transition and non-traditional students experience, and the career experience. All Amplified tracks will focus on increasing engagement in the areas of academic, personal, and professional developments while inspiring students to amplify their purpose. Peer mentors will help foster an environment that will lead, inspire, and transform students throughout their college experience.
